The RLAO works with members of the legislature to modernize Oklahoma’s alcohol laws — with a balance of convenience and public safety. Below is what we are watching, fighting, and refusing to give away.

Public health and responsible retail

The RLAO supports laws that enhance public health and safety: underage-sales enforcement, responsible serving and selling, and a retail environment that is not a race to the bottom. Convenience without controls is not a consumer win. It is a cost shifted onto families and police departments. We will say so at the Capitol.

It is only by engaging the process that small-business owners counteract the corporate interests who are constantly trying to grow at the expense of hard-working Oklahomans. Put in your address. The first name is your senator; the next is your House member.

Licensing, hours, tastings, and the six-percent markup live in Title 37A and are enforced by ABLE. When the Commission drifts, members hear it from us first.
